Any reason why not to remove the ‘extra’ background dots that overlap at the end of an iteration?

Some points will be missing at the end of the blue iteration. I think it's to avoid those points but otherwise I agree that it would be looking better by removing the extras

this makes sense i think. but i never considered there to be 'extra' dots – just cubes rolling around on a grid floor
