If you watch the footage in slow mo, it’s impossible not to conclude this is shady asf.. Chirinos goes to pick it up and stuff in in his pocket like 8 times .. he can’t feel it’s still stuck cause his batting glove is still on .. then (1/2) https://youtu.be/V-qFQkBbtsg
after he *thinks* it’s in his pocket it appears as if he’s trying to tell the ump it was part of his bat (or something), without ever being questioned .. Blue seems to really not care at all lol
