you can see along the negative real axis that there is a disagreement between the functions so since we can't assign the function 2 values we have to cut it off there

Im not asking you to make this. But: it be so cool if we could plot the corresponding reimann surface (to continue the branch cut) and watch it's topology change as we move the mouse.
