it's a question i think about a lot .. the most fundamental assumption is that nature is comprehensible.. it doesn't have to be, but it seems to be close it would be odd if all the sudden it just stopped making sense.. but i guess that just brings us back to the assumption

No the most fundamental assumption is that our peeception of nature is comprehensible. The nature in itself is quite the opposite of comprehensible.
