The barber cannot shave himself: he only shaves those who do not shave themselves. Thus, if he shaves himself he ceases to be the barber. If he doesn’t shave himself, then he is one of people who would be shaved by the barber, and thus as the barber, must shave himself.
The paradox is that there is no answer that doesn’t lead to a contradiction.. freaky eh?
