Earth, Venus, Mercury... and the Parker Probe. It keeps flying near Venus and getting pushed closer to the Sun. In September it came within 25 million kilometers of the Sun. In January it will get closer: 19 million km. That's HOT! But that's just the start... (1/n)pic.twitter.com/tt1CxjBV3e

It's scheduled to reach 0.064% the speed of light in the 22nd perihelion, but I can't find any information on what will happen after the 24th! Someone must have thought about this.... does anyone here know? Of course it won't reach relativistic speeds.pic.twitter.com/YoQS30dL4d

Although I wouldn’t call even 1% of lightspeed “relativistic”, I just got a surprise by the following comparison: the deflection of starlight by the sun that “validated“ GR was about 8 microradians. You can get that much relativistic aberration at 0.0008% c, or 2.4 km/sec!
