Something I've always wondered. Is there a name for the ∫d^n convention I see so often in action integrals?
S = yada ∫(d^n) yada yada, and sometimes The differential with the superscript in parentheses.
I've just noticed it a few times, usually in action definitions, and always put out in front.
putting it out front is just something physicists do so that way you can think of \int d^nx as an operator acting on functions to the right
Yeah, was just wondering if there might be a special name for it. "Spatial integral" might be it but I also see that for something like \int f(x,y,z,t) dx dy dz dt. 1. https://slideplayer.com/slide/12758133/ pic.twitter.com/J2PkYknQAP
i don't think so .. i wouldn't get too hung up on stuff like that it's just notation
