It’s not currently known whether string theory is fully consistent in every sense of interest. For instance, we don’t understand much about the UV structure past 1 (maybe 2) loops, afaik. Also, the non-perturbative definition is still very much lacking.
True.. afaik ST suffers from the same nonperturbative issues as QFT
