Right .. I would say /that/ is the most “natural” state of motion .. following a linear world line
For me it helps to make sense of the move from how our Newtonian friends asked “what is this force that is pulling these objects to the ground? It’s spooky that they fall!” to our more contemporary picture of objects simply following the world lines on the manifold
