Purely cultural, I suppose. 1/φ is as beautiful as φ, yet 1/φ < 1. τ=2π is sometimes considered more natural that π, and 2π > 6. I have nothing to say about e, though; absolute unit.

Suppose from now until the heat death of the universe all of humanity optimizes its activities toward writing down new notation, arguments, etc to uniquely specify as large a number as possible
