Thankfully you can prove that you don’t need to shuffle too many times to make something “well shuffled”.

although that does rely on the independence of each shuffle (i.e. if cards break at one position in one shuffle, it doesn't influence where they break in the next), which is a dubious assumption in practice because cards get stuck together
