No, this experiment will not "poke a hole into the universe" or "rip apart space" or tear "the very fabric of space and time are asunder". #StopHypehttps://arstechnica.com/?post_type=post&p=1568367 …

I now aspire to create an experiment that will in fact tear the fabric of the universe apart

I sketched a "space time ripper" when I was 10. My idea was to use lasers to poke a hole, then my spaceship would slip into the crack and travel faster than light all the way to Tau Ceti, where it would drop off the first wave of cowboy colonists and their dogs and cattle.

I'm full of ideas. For example, I want to open a barbershop/beauty parlor chain, with sites near where physicists and hippies hang out. I'll drop discount coupons in their mail, get their hair, and clone them. It's a much better way to staff my quantum gravity research program.
