In what sense successful? We're talking about theory which work. String theory predicts what QG theory should predict and is perfectly consistent and compatible with the whole knowledge about physics. So there is no place where it doesn't work.

It’s “consistent” in the sense that you can’t measure arbitrarily to zero.. look in a fan of string theory but at this point the radius of the compact dimensions is clearly fine tuned
