Agree that you have to put in the effort no matter what resource you use. Just trying to point out here that taking too much time to grok something could well be a problem of the material you choose that just doesn't resonate.

Definitely and there's ample time wasted trying to not find the right orientation and just headbutting against symbols in a single text book thinking to oneself it will just take time.

that's true.. there's a line to walk that's for sure .. i'm not advising that somebody take this advice in the infinite limit
