What are the initial conditions and how it is derived. Sorry, I didn't get it.

The matrix A=[1 1; 1 0] has the first three Fib. numbers as entries. The effect of multiplying that matrix by itself is to make a matrix whose second column is the first column of A, and whose first column is the sum of columns of A, so all the Fib. numbers get shifted up by one
