For my electrodynamics lectures I decided (maybe unwisely) to calculate the radiation from an oscillating dipole starting from the Liénard-Wiechert potentials.
Problem: I made a mistake somewhere, and none of the standard textbooks use this approach. So I am currently stuck
ah, that's right.. what part do you think you made a mistake on? I think i remember doing a similar problem on my qual

My scalar potential is ok, but my vector potential has too many functions of theta in it (initially I thought I was just in a different gauge than anyone else, but if I go through and calculate the fields I still get the wrong result)

hmm.. yea i'm not sure based off that.. but i'm sure you'll figure it out
