For my electrodynamics lectures I decided (maybe unwisely) to calculate the radiation from an oscillating dipole starting from the Liénard-Wiechert potentials.
Problem: I made a mistake somewhere, and none of the standard textbooks use this approach. So I am currently stuck

Nope. Just checked. He says literally "The fields can be calculated directly from [the Liénard-Wiechert potentials], but it is simpler to return to the integral over [volume]" (Chapter 14)
