      The artifact known as "fields" that carry energy, momentum and other stuff from point to point in space and time allow us to preserve the notion of locality. Wheeler-Feynman absorber theory is good food for thought on this. Locality, time direction, and causality are problematic.

      I like your earlier remark about how locality evokes physics in your thought. We no longer live with the pretense that Euclidean geometry descended from the heavens but we still like to pretend that logic and pure mathematics do.
