how does this change over time; say after 1 million years? someone has to pay the work bill.
all of the energy comes from gravity.. in order to keep such a tunnel from collapsing one would need to apply an immense amount of force and expend a lot of energy. In the real world such a configuration would never be stable since gravity wants to squeeze everything together
