What is the headache for which "even & odd functions" is the aspirin? It feels too esoteric for a precalc class. It's usually just defined, asked questions about, then never spoken of again. #iteachmath #MTBoS

Oh it is definitely very cool that all* functions can be written as the sum of an even function and an odd function. But for someone who doesn't have a solid grasp of odd/even functions & their properties, the best it gets is a shoulder shrug
