The red light, having a shorter path, will pass through the glass more quickly, but not at a higher velocity.

No? A car driving 10 m/s doesn't have higher velocity on a 10m long road than on a 100m long one, but it will reach the end earlier.

i was saying in terms of them going the same distance (not in the animation), the red light will still win and hence must be traveling faster
