in GR it's the same idea, but you have to be careful since your spacetime can be curved, and since your light follows geodesics this can distort light cones.. i didn't want to get into all this atm 
Not to interfere a lot: "Tilted/distorted lightcones", theoretically one can travel to the past (and return back were we started) in loops without(!)
