A basic conceptual argument. First advanced by philosopher Patrick Grim.

Mathematical or otherwise. Do you think it makes a difference?

Yes, empirical truths are a multivariate function of physical parametrs.. energy, frame of reference etc. You may be asking about the set of empirical truths that do not vary on these parameters. Of those, there aren’t many—if not the empty set.

Right, but the argument put forward isn’t limited to empirical truths. Even analytical truths will follow the same logic I’d think.

If you don’t separate the two truths and compare them the same, the question sounds completely contrived and meaningless.

Both analytical and synthetic truths are still a subset of all truths. I agree they are different in some critical sense, but I’m only comparing the “truth” aspect, not the different rules one have to use to approach them.

i see.. it's a good question, which i haven't thought of before. I would add thought that the claim can be made simpler by noting that the set of all analytic and synthetic truths are disjoint, and so, one would think, that the set of all truths is their set theoretic union

in any case, if there be such truths that are neither (which i don't think there are) the easiest way to tackle the problem is to break it down into disjoint subsets

Perhaps. I thought so as well when you asked if I was referring to “mathematical truths.” I’ll think about it and modify it accordingly.
