In spherical coordinates, math calls the azimuthal angle (angle in the xy plane) by theta and the zenith angle (from pos z-axis) phi, whereas physics calls the zenith theta and longitude phi. Other discrepancies in notation between areas of science? https://bit.ly/2WpjNiv

The use of j (electrical engineering) and i (physics and math) as sqrt (-1). For an electrical engineer, i refers exclusively to current. For a physicist, j is current density.

Since i is/am both (pun of the day) , i have used i for current and i , but i prefer i to not be current
