Yet. But the wimps parameter space is as I mentioned heavily heavily constrained. You can see in this plot that the cross section is getting "pushed" lower and lower at higher mass. This is why people are now exploring the avenue of "light" dark matterpic.twitter.com/n1EaZ2Rc2c
There comes a point at which the cross section becomes so small that you conclude that it's essentially zero, implying the particle just doesn't exist.

So what is it then? Do we need a new Quantum leap to understand what 26% of our universe is formed of, Is it even a particle by definition?

We don't know what it is. My prior is that it is a new kind of particle. There's good reason to believe this, too.
