"Nah I'm not all that interested in the Universe" is hands down a red flag for me. Biggest turnoff ever.

Idk about this.. everybody’s got their own thing.. some people love fashion.. some people love sitcoms and stand up.. I don’t think being elitist about what people’s passions are help

Hey you're free to your opinions. And I'm not being elitist, I'm stating a preference. To me a person who doesn't appreciate the Universe is a person I can't share my excitement with. That's a preference I'm allowed to have.

You’re perfectly allowed to have it, I just think the undertones are clear. But I do imagine if I tweeted something about how women are disinterested in science are less attractive because of it, it wouldn’t be received very well.

Now here's the difference: you related it to attraction. I'm mostly speaking about compatibility, albeit with some snark. And by the way: I said *nothing* of gender. This goes for men *or* women. Have a nice night.

What would be the point of outreach? What would be the point of science communication, if we settle for just turning away from someone who for whatever reasons due to their past aren’t interested in science?

This is a valid point. That's why I do outreach. But that's not what I meant.

That’s fair, and I’m sure you didn’t mean it either.
