"Nah I'm not all that interested in the Universe" is hands down a red flag for me. Biggest turnoff ever.

Hey you're free to your opinions. And I'm not being elitist, I'm stating a preference. To me a person who doesn't appreciate the Universe is a person I can't share my excitement with. That's a preference I'm allowed to have.
You’re perfectly allowed to have it, I just think the undertones are clear. But I do imagine if I tweeted something about how women are disinterested in science are less attractive because of it, it wouldn’t be received very well.

Now here's the difference: you related it to attraction. I'm mostly speaking about compatibility, albeit with some snark. And by the way: I said *nothing* of gender. This goes for men *or* women. Have a nice night.

Clearly you were speaking about those which you were attracted to, as was I. I just think if we adopted this mentality to everyone who was initially disinterested in science, then we couldn’t be able to reach out to those who are nonscientists.
