Can someone tell Immanuel Kant there’s no such thing as Categorical Imperative? His deontology argument doesn’t work.

I don’t think there could be such a thing as an action (carried out by humans) that is independent of a goal. Kant was trying to argue that actions are right or wrong independent of your goal.

I will day this, I’m not a Kantian.. but usually if you think a reputable philosopher is crazy, you probably haven’t understood them fully

While I agree that Kant's ethics system ultimately doesn't work, at least certainly not for me, I still find great value in the logical structure and idea behind the categorical imperative (in some of its formulations). That said, I find his German writing style abhorrent.
