As much as I like the spirit of this essay, the idea that we can "do away with any theoretical bias" makes no sense. The larger and the more expensive experiments become, the more careful we must be to decide where to look. I agree. How else would we know what kind of detectors to build, where to look, and what are the possible candidates if experiment is completely divorced from theory? Doing so would be remarkably inefficient.
