I really don’t know why people conflate open-mindedness with credulity.
Because for most people the two are synonymous.. I’m not a huge Dawkins fan but I do like this one: “I agree we should be open minded, but not so much that our brains fall out”

Well the things is that open-mindedness alone won’t cut it but it’s a step in the rational ladder. We have to add critical thinking to it and that will help weed out false incoming information or false conclusions drawn from a given information.

If one is close-minded, you won’t even be able to get to the analysis of information to check whether or not it’s true because you’ve already rejected it as false due to being obstinate.
