The term emergence is a cop out. Temperature comes from jostling around of molecules. We have models for this and simulations that take us from the microscopic to macroscopic. Therefore just because it’s emergent doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be able to describe that emergence.
Right.. but what does that tell us that we didn't already know?

it's powerful in the in the context where it's applied but it's ultimately just a construct of conscious intent (in my framework for reality at least)

haha I think maybe you've read too much George Berkely

In 2nd order logic self referential logic, albeit not escaping the "liar's paradox"
#BertrandRussel could be a starting point. We also know cellular atomata can somehow compute this high (and much higher order logic) with the physical building blocks of nature.could apply QIP

man im madly fascinated with the idea of biological computation. i know you referenced cellular automata but that just set a tangent in my mind with the idea of taking computation and placing it in a different substrate.

why does it have to tell you something you didn't already know? why can't it express an aspect of something you already knew in a sense that you hadn't yet actually fully considered?
-
Because nature isn't teleological, as far as I can tell. It's not that massive bodies attract because that's what the universe assigned it to do, rather it does so because of the way spacetime objectively is and how it behaves in the presence of massive bodies.

there will always be unknowns out there for us to discover. we must first embrace our ignorance of things in order to truly perceive the reality of things. we must accept that we truly know nothing in the grand scheme of things, and that knowledge is vacuous and relative
