Ask him to point to where in the equations the "consciousness variable" is that accounts for this.. when he can't ask him how he can say it's a part of the mathematical model

Personally, I think defining consciousness to be "that thing which experiences the universe" is vacuous. That's like defining the sun to be "that thing which is bright and in the sky".. if we stopped there we would know almost nothing about the sun

well i more define consciousness as "the faculty of the universe to attend to and experience itself."

i certainly would prefer to be more quantitative and precise as well, my friend. it's just I operate more on intuition than anything and it's hard to quantify that. that being said however i golly fully believe this intuition and mysticism stuff can be empirically codified
