Einstein's Postulates: (1) The laws of physics are the same in all inertial frames of reference. (2) The speed of light in free space has the same value in all inertial frames of reference. The entirety Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity is fleshing this out.

That's right. The speed of light is very connected to space in time, as it's formula is just the usual speed equation c = dx/dt = dx'/dt' for two relatively moving observers S, S'. This means that (x,t) must conspire in some dynamical way to enforce this fact
