the character assassination of Nolan Bushnell, yea, I would be disappointed and lose a little respect for anyone who attends the 2019 event. This was so wrong, on so many levels. I do my best to stay out of gaming politics. There's enough writers who focus on that shit 24/7.

This is one I couldn't stay quiet on. It is so morally and so ethically despicable, the merciless railroading of this man, without a single ounce of consideration for historic context or the actions, deeds, and words of the man from the 70s onward.

Not to mention that this fiasco has made a mockery of
#MeToo
and Time's Up, movements that have helped to get real victims some semblance of justice and satisfaction and take predators to task for their actions.
Nolan Bushnell was not, and never has been, a predator.Show this thread -
Game Developers Conference is complacent in allowing a morally bankrupt aspiring politician to hijack the movement, not to help victims or get justice for wronged women, but to get attention for herself and her campaign. It is reprehensible that they allowed this to happen.

Game Developers Conference needs to be taken to task for this. For what they've done to Nolan Bushnell. For devaluing
#MeToo
by caving into a baseless attention-grab by a failing political candidate trying to revitalize her campaign under the guise of justice and workplace ethicsShow this thread -
And the only way to do this is to stop supporting Game Developers Conference. Over the last two weeks, I've heard one developer after another, AAA, Indie, and every size in between, tell me that as disgusting as this whole situation is, they need GDC for their studio's future.

To all those who believe that, I assure you, it's not true. Game Developers Conference needs YOU. Without you, without your attendance, without you being every bit as complacent in their recent actions as they have been, they can't exist. You do not need them. They need you.

I'm going to once again ask that people take personal attacks elsewhere. And also, this thread is not about the failing would-be politician who started this. This is about an organization that went along with destroying the man just for the sake of destroying someone in gaming.

I won’t be attending, in protest. This was shameful.
