Costs for creating and exchanging NFTs are too damn high, and we realized a while ago that if we were serious about taking @GodsUnchained mainstream we needed a solution. Sidechains suck, and switching away from Ethereum to another blockchain was (and still is) laughable.
In May we announced our solution for GU, Immutable X: technology developed in partnership with @StarkWareLtd, the pioneers of STARK zero-knowledge proof systems. Since then, it’s become more and more clear we bet on the right horse. This is how Ethereum wins.
Earlier this month, @VitalikButerin published a blog post that concluded “the Ethereum ecosystem is likely to be all-in on rollups (plus some plasma and channels) as a scaling strategy for the near and mid-term future”.
On Immutable X, NFT projects and exchanges no longer need to worry about scaling while retaining the security of mainnet Ethereum. Neither users nor developers will need to pay gas costs for minting and exchanging assets. And UX? Major fucking upgrades.
