Just re-visited Home Office research, in 2020, cautioning against thinking that grooming of children for sexual purposes is predominantly by gangs from a particular ethnic background. Worry is that police take their eyes off the predominantly white culprits.

📣Comic Relief’s S&S Specialism Programme centred its design on a unique ring-fence funding, the expertise of external B&M women-led by and for sector leaders. The Programme was also led by a Portfolio Manager who is a B&M woman with a background in by and for work.

Very thought provoking two days at #dacfestival Listening to panel discussion on survivor voice, it’s is unacceptable to ask people with lived experience to recount their trauma for free or their bus fare. Social work courses - take note!

Victims' Bill is a disappointment. Most victims' things announced - challenge Police/CPS decisions; Ministers ask for inspections if CJS agencies fail victims - exist already. Victims Code rights are ignored in CJS: not enforceable, no workable complaints system. No change today

“Victims placed at heart of justice system under radical shakeup”, says @MoJGovUK press release announcing its new Bill.
So why has Govt left the post of Victims’ Commissioner vacant for six months?
@VeraBaird has still not been replaced after leaving her post in September

I had hoped the Victims Bill would transform + even revolutionise the response to victims but in its current form it’s disappointingly far from the big picture promises we want to see.
You can read my statement here about the Victims and Prisoners Bill.

In 2012, as a stalking victim, I had a vision of a #victimslaw that would give victims legally enforceable rights to justice and support. It’s been a long hard fought campaign, and I am eager to see the Bill shortly. Here’s my initial response.

🟢🟣 Migrant women not only belong to the community but also enrich it. However, the British government has intensified its attacks on us over the last few years.
This #InternationalWomensDay, we stand up for our rights because, without migrant women, the world would not move.
