Victims' Bill is a disappointment. Most victims' things announced - challenge Police/CPS decisions; Ministers ask for inspections if CJS agencies fail victims - exist already. Victims Code rights are ignored in CJS: not enforceable, no workable complaints system. No change today

Women fear institutional encounters and describe structural violence from immigration authorities and detention centres, which reinforced the violence from people in their intimate lives who threatened them with deportation to sustain abuse (Imkaan, 2020). 3/3
