I spent 13 hours playing #reddeadredemption2 today (roughly 30 total) here's some hot takes (in no particular order) :
1) the game is as frustrating as it is fun. The clunky controls end up giving you these memorable moments of hilarious mishaps BUT

Sitting for 20 real world minutes while i craft 400 pieces of ammo by mashing A is not fun. Having to hold buttons down for selection is not fun. Having to watch the animal skinning animation is not fun. I can skip the deal in poker tho! So that's worthless...

I hate this false inflation of a game's length. I can easily spend 100 hrs in this world, and I will. But i don't want to remember that time as "waiting for the plucking animation to stop because i started to get shot mid hunt and now i'm dead"

6) not being able to interrupt actions like looting or skinning creates unrealistic instances of Arthur Morgan being pelted with bullets instead of getting on his horse. This happens all the time, buttons that do seven different things and in a critical situation, the wrong 1

All in all rdr2 is a fantastic game. It's just a shame seeing some of the choices they made to implement certain things at the expense of tangible immersion or polish. 8 years of development coulda netted some amazing immersive details, instead we got horse dick. 8/10
