What do you think would help? When I was being treated for an ED as a teen/YA very little that anyone said, got through to me. I often wonder now what would have made a difference to me then. If you could talk to yourself before you transitioned, what would you say?

I'd be blunt. "You know x, y and z had a massive impact on you. You developed dysphoria after these things happened. So, clearly x y and z had a role in your dysphoria. Rather than transition, address x y and z. If dysohoria is still there, then transition."

Absolutely. Surely an essential part of their duty of care?

As someone with PTSD, it is very concerning how many are being advised to transition rather than treat the trauma. One may feel differently about things after trauma treatment. One is very vulnerable with PTSD & mental health challenges.

I don’t even know if challenge is the term I would use but definitely explore and uncover possibilities of why they *believe* they want/need to transition. Plus will be the only person who brings up irreversible changes. Worth the journey to discover for sure.
