I feel the same. Whilst believing everyone has the right to do whatever they wish with their own bodies, it is uncontestable that choices are not made in a vaccuum. The social wallpaper surrounding us has an influence, and not always to the good.
When I hear about a trans man getting top surgery, I feel the same way I would about a woman getting a boob job. I'm sorry they were so uncomfortable with themselves that they resorted to surgery. I hope it makes them happy but I can't celebrate insecurity-led body modification.

I agree with the exception of breast reductions for women, especially older women, whose breasts are causing back pain, neck strain, painful rashes, the inability to run etc. These used to be quite easily available on the NHS but it's all but impossible now, around £7K privately.

I hadn’t really made that connection although I guess I should have done. Both are body modifications. I always think of the grief women feel when they lose their breasts due to cancer.

Insecurity? From my own experience, it was not an insecurity but just incorrect to the part of the brain which processes visual images. Being insecure about breasts also wouldn’t explain why such a person would then go for a male aesthetic. IMO it’s a completely separate issue

Mutilating your body to make it less efficient, and possibly painful, to weaken it with life dependant drugs that cause your bone density to collapse leading to weakness and breaks. To have unforseen side effects. A damaged woman cannot turn into a man.

Sadly, it won't make them happy. There will always be another elusive body modification fix just around the corner. Whatever is in fashion, this year it's butts, next year it'll be foot binding.
