Has it never occured to trans activists that the massive surge in the number of gender clinic referrals is bad for trans people? Why do you think the waiting lists have gotten so ridiculously long? 1/3

If social contagion or unaddressed mental health issues are driving the surge, we need to know so A) those who'd benefit from transition aren't waiting years for an appointment B) those who'd be harmed by transition don't go through it 2/3

It's not transphobic to question why so many people - especially girls and young women - are suddenly identifying as trans. They won't all benefit from transition, in fact most won't. We need to know why this is happening, for everyone's sake - including trans peoples. 3/3

deal with life, & it's v common to feel ill at ease with the pink & blue boxes. Obv some ppl have a gender identity, but it's not necessary for validity for all to. The (subconscious?) challenge to determine a named deeply held sense of self independent of one's sex, is huge.
