A lot of people use detransition who represent under 5% of cases to forbid transition. Let's remind the most people who do detransition do it because of the transphobia they live and cause they are not accepted by their family / friends.
That's simply not true. There are no long-term follow-up studies on detransition, so we don't know the numbers. And I, and many other detransitioners, are tweeting today that we did detransition due to regret, not due to transphobia.

If TRAs believe rates of detransition are low then they ought to welcome an accurate long term study as it will strengthen their argument. If the rates are higher than expected then it’ll provide data for better health care for trans and detrans people.

Every TRA I know DOES support long term studies. As you say, it will only provide better healthcare for trans people, along with detransitioned cis people.
