Here, Dr Jack Turban joins the GenderGP podcast in a 43 minute long episode to explore “the notion of detransition.” I'd like to explore some of the things he said myself, in this thread: 1/xhttps://www.gendergp.com/exploring-detransition-with-dr-jack-turban/ …

I have to say
@jack_turban that for myself and the many other detransitioners I've spoken to who did experience regret, I wish my psychiatrist had treated my gender dysphoria. I wish my other issues had been addressed. I wish I'd been given therapy instead of hormones. 9/xShow this thread -
It's painfully evident from what you've said that you don't care about the wrong kinds of detransitoners – those of us who experienced transition regret - because you spend every opportunity you get trying to pretend we don't exist. Frankly, you're a disgrace to medicine. 10/10

To add: I didn't even scratch the surface of the utter nonsense that was spouted in this podcast, because this thread would be massive if I tried. Go listen for yourselves, if you can stomach it. Though my fellow detrans folk may have a hard time tolerating Turbans mental BS.

So in Dr. Turban's tx plan, he is 100% ensuring there will be more and more false positives down the road. He is creating future detransitioners in a sense, by absolutely allowing no nuance, or room for iatrogenic risks. Move to highest experimental risk tx first.

..and not really "first," bc there is not second, third or fourth option. If you have a hammer, everything is a nail. I don't know when, but it's bound to happen: someone he's treated will detransition for reasons of regret. But he won't believe their inconvenient truth.

Psychiatrists are too afraid to treat it lest their treatment be deemed transphobic.

“psychiatrists don't treat gender dysphoria” is a political position decreed by Turban. Psychiatrists can help people with GD by providing psychotherapy. There is no credible evidence that psychotherapy is unhelpful, let alone harmful.

He has no clue of what he is talking about. Dysphoria is a thinking disease. Treatment resolved by working through the trauma that created the poor thinking in the first..

He’s a charlatan.
