I was not informed about either of these. I visited both my optician and my dentist while on hormones, completely unaware that they can affect treatment. Neither my optician nor my dentist appeared to be aware of this either. If they were, they said nothing to me. 3/4
And no, I was not called in for any cervical or breast screenings either, because I was in the system as “male.” Where is the care? Where is the monitoring? Where is the follow-up? How many young people, currently on hormones, are the NHS failing? 4/4
It seems irresponsible, to the point of recklessness, to carry out complicated, life changing medical procedures on young people with no real follow-up. I hope there are reliable resources that you can access to be able to make sure you get the examinations you need.
