I don't know where I'd be now if it weren't for the advice and support given to me by other detransitioners. Choosing to detransition can be terrifying - especially due to the backlash it gets online. Thank you, to all detrans people who speak out despite the bullshit you get.

Hey Watson, How do you feel about the ex-gay movement? Just curious.

If this is to compare "ex-gays" to detransitioners, there is no comparison. Sexual orientation and gender dysphoria are completely different, since the latter is a mental illness and the former is not.

Being trans isn't a mental illness. It often is accompanied by dysphoria but they're not the same thing.

I never said being trans is a mental illness. Gender dysphoria is, though.

You know, I have mixed feelings on that framing, even. I know a dude who's very upset that he went bald. Sounds like a pretty common reaction from men who go bald. Is his distress at his appearance a mental illness?

Being very upset at going bald and feeling that your own body/bio sex is wrong to the point it induces suicidal ideation are very different I suffered hair loss on T and it was upsetting. Doesn't compare to the anguish of feeling I was born female when I should've been born male
