Some people are of the opinion that a medical transition might be right for some people. That raises questions: How do we know? How do we know which people? How do we avoid errors? What is the measure by which we determine whether it is right or not?

Yes. But what alternative treatments ? They need to be made available.
I'm not sure, that's why I said they must be looked into. Some detransitioners have said counselling focused on exactly what parts of themselves they struggled with helped. For me, it was working through past trauma. I'm sure if they looked, the professionals could find more.
