I have a feeling that almost every adult who seeks transition has unaddressed mental health issues. I also think they don’t want to really address them either. Because that would mean hard work not a grand new makeover.

I'm an addictions counselor and it honestly seems like an addiction to me in many instances. Escape my problems by escaping from myself.

Thank you Watson. I have no idea what putting your head above the parapet does to you, but we all are thankful that you're strong enough to do so. Your voice in this issue is SO important. Until this is viewed as a mental health crisis I fear far too many more will be harmed.

You are right. Where else in health care do upset, miserable, desperate patients do their own diagnosis and prescriptions?

* The more I read Detrans tesimonies, the more I think Transition was just an easy simplistic "solution" given to a more complex deep situation inside the Being of Self-Destruction uncared by the medical professionals. *https://twitter.com/HydroAsphodel/status/1367179212067594242 …

There is a very deep problem in the practice of psychology too that it has abandoned its ability to recognise & diagnose significant mental illness in this one specific domain. It’s quite odd.
