When people in straight relationships say “my partner”. Stop it! You are confusing me. Honestly I hate “partner” overall. It’s to ambiguous.

I sometimes call my boyfriend my partner because all my previous relationships were with women, so I'm used to saying it. I don't like partner that much, though - I only said it at first because saying "girlfriend" got the "oh, you a lesbian?" Question from strangers.
