Been having intense conversations recently with my mum, dad, sister & best friend - regarding my transition, detransition and the toll it had on them - to write something for families/friends in that situation. My takeaway - a persons transition effects *everyone* in their life.

Pass. I was a self absorbed teen once and I wasn't unaware of the effects on my family, I just didn't care much. Probably what happened to this person. Acting as if you were "unaware" is simply a ploy to let oneself off the hook.
I was unaware of it because they hid it from me. They supported me and pretended to be fine with my transition for my sake. The reason why I'm talking about all this now is because they've only just started opening up to me about it.
