I acknowledge that many of the people who follow me on here identify as Radical Feminists and/or Gender Critical. Nothing wrong with being either of those labels, I'm just glad you're willing to share detrans voices at a time when detrans voices are seen as heresy. but 1/x

Thanks for saying this. I'm just an ordinary lesbian who never transitioned, but I've seen some of this behavior in GC lesbian spaces and been horrified by it. I encourage people to critique the bad parts of TRA ideology, but cruelty is both morally wrong and tactically unwise.

I make exceptions where I see them necessary. For example, if a detrans account I follow refers to themselves as "mutilated," I'd never correct them because that's their opinion of themselves and who am I to butt in? But just willy-nilly calling trans men "mutilated"? Arseholery.

It's tough, because if you don't believe in gender can you be pro-trans? I don't believe in god, so can I be pro-religion? It's a tough one.

And that is why I follow you and enjoy reading from you so much. Also: You actually focus on people, not theories, but the effect and consequences they have for people.

Genuine question: what do you mean by "pro-trans"? I'm against everything trans represents: the implications of "I am a woman/man because I feel it" , the body modifications to bring happiness/peace, the codifying of gender roles, all wrong. But..1/2

I try to make sure what I say never comes across as defamatory to trans people. Even if there weren't trans people I love, I don't believe it's ever okay to deny any population their dignity. But it's a good reminder to keep angry thoughts from slipping into bad words territory
