I've spoken to detrans women who say they only sought transition after reading gay male fan fiction online. They'd fantasize about being one or more of the characters in these stories and became aroused at the thought of being attractive, desirable gay males. 2/3

Would this be classed as autogynephilia or something else? I find it fascinating but I've seen so little on the topic. Thoughts? 3/3

Yes! My theory is that sexuality is somewhat malleable: the kind of materials one is fixating on can warp someone's sense of identity & arousal. Which is NOT to say that LGB people being aroused by same sex intimacy means they were 'warped' into it. Imagery can clarify OR distort
